ITINERARY

DAY 1: LA PAZ –SAJAMA

Departure from the hotel at 8:00 am by private transportation. Drive across the “Altiplano” to the entrance of Sajama National Park (5 hour drive) through the small town of Curahuara de Carangas with its colonial church and its rich colures (perfectly preserved frescoes). Along the way, we find “chullpas” (burial tombs), nowadays empty after steady pillaging. We enter the Park through a trail leading to the small village of Sajama . Abundant and varied fauna: alpacas, vicuñas, ñandus (animal close to the ostrich, also called rhea or American ostrich) if conditions allow. Accommodation at small lodge and lunch, later we’ll walk around the K’eñua forest, the highest tree-line in the World. (L, D.)

DAY 2: SAJAMA – BASE CAMP

We will leave by private transportation (30 minutes) until near to the base camp. From there we will start the expedition with 2 hours approximately. Walk up to the base camp at 4.400 m. above sea level(B,L,D.)

DAY 3: BASE CAMP – HIGH CAMP –BASE CAMP

Quickly we will go into the glacier, after that, continue strung until to reach to the high camp at 5.700 m. above sea level 6 hrs.) we will start the descent until the base camp(B,L, D.)

DAY 4: BASE CAMP –SAJAMA-LA PAZ

From 08:00am we start the walk to the car for the same way and after we will go to sajama ,and  go back to la paz(B,L,)
