ITINERARY
DAY 1: LA PAZ-TUNI-CHIARKHOTA (base camp)
Early departure from La Paz to the Estancia Tuni by car (4,400m) at 08:30. We then have a 3 hour trek to the Chair Khota Lagoon (4,630m), where we will set up our base camp
DAY 2: CHIARKHOTA-PICO AUSTRIA-CHIARKHOTA
Departure at 08:30 From Laguna chiarkotha we begin by ascending, a jewel nested at an altitude of 4900 meters at the foot of El Condoriri (el. 5650 m.a.s.l.). From there we keep climbing to a second pass (Paso Austria, 5300 m.a.s.l.) before descending tolaguna Chiarkhota (el. 4670 m.a.s.l.) (B, L, D)
DAY 3: CHIARKHOTA-PEQUEÑO ALPAMAYO-CHIARKHOTA –LA PAZ
Departure at 05:00 am. We start the climb to Tarija’s pick (5300m.) You will then continue to the Pequeño Alpamayo. On the way you will pass a rocky area and shortly after that you will reach the summit ( 5350 m .). Descent will be by the same route. It takes 5 hours approx. It is not a high climb but the approach gives us the the opportunity to practise different skills. After packing the equipment we descend to Estancia Tuni, from here we take the transport back to La Paz
