Today will be our greatest challenge. An extended climb up to 5,100 m will take us to the highest pass of the trek. Later gradual descent of a very steep valley, then another 500 m climb that will lead us to our camp, located in a flat and grassy area surrounded by two frozen streams. This day we will walk about 6-7 hours. (B, L, D). .

Apolobamba
This is a magnificent hike, perhaps the most epic Bolivia has to offer. You will have the opportunity to explore uninhibited wilderness, while the surrounding scenery is the best of the Andes, with views of Ancohuma, Illimani, the Cordillera Real and Sunchuli. There will be many opportunities to observe Andean wildlife, including llamas, alpacas, condors, viscachas,
vicuñas and if you’re really lucky, the bespectacled bear. This enchanting trek through isolated villages, beautiful rolling hills sparkling with streams and the occasional waterfall, goldmines and the opportunity to bump into a Kallawaya (traveling doctor) from the village of Curva combined with hardcore trekking involving a series of switchbacks makes this an incredible and rewarding trip.
