ITINERARY
DAY 1: La Paz –Copacabana.
Morning departure to Copacabana. During the drive we will be able to see the magnificent Lake Titicaca and the spectacular Cordillera Real. At the half waypoint, we will take a ferry the Strait of Tiquina. We will reach Copacabana in three hours. Afternoon visit to Copacabana including a visit to the Vírgen of Copacabana and her church, the most important Christian sanctuary in Bolivia. Climb El Calvario, a hill from where you will enjoy a spectacular view of Lake Titicaca and Copacabana. Overnight in Copacabana (L, D)
DAY 2: Copacabana – Island of the Sun.
Do not miss the sunrise! After breakfast we take you by boat to La Chincana to start a hike crossing most of Island of the Sun for 4 to 5 hours. Lunch and free afternoon to enjoy the area. Overnight Sun Island (B, L, D)
DAY 3: Copacabana – La Paz.
Today we hike to the village of Yumani, known as the garden of the Incas. We hike down to the bay to take a boat back to Copacabana where we visit the Vírgen Morena and its church. Lunch. Return to La Paz or transfer to Puno, Peru. (B)
Optional: You can spend the 2 night in the Island of the Sun instead of Copacabana.
