ITINERARY
DAY 1: La Paz –Copacabana.
Morning departure to Copacabana. During the drive we will be able to see the magnificent Lake Titicaca and the spectacular Cordillera Real. At the half waypoint, we will take a ferry the Strait of Tiquina. We will reach Copacabana in three hours. Lunch. Afternoon visit to Copacabana including a visit to the Vírgen of Copacabana and her church, the most important Christian sanctuary in Bolivia. Climb El Calvario, a hill from where you will enjoy a spectacular view of Lake Titicaca and Copacabana. Overnight in Hotel Rosario del Lago. (L,D)
DAY 2: Copacabana- Island of the Sun:
Morning boat ride to visit the Island of the Sun. The views from the top of this island are spectacular. Enjoy the scenery showing local inhabitants and their croplands, the island surrounded by Lake Titicaca blue water and the distant snow peaks of the Illampu, Condoriri, Huayna Potosi and Illimani. Lunch. Departure to Copacabana in the afternoon. Return to La Paz or transfer to Puno, Peru.(B,)
Optional: You can spend the night of DAY 1 in the same Island of the Sun instead of Copacabana.
